Aurora is a burst mage who can play in the Mid Lane. Her high mobility allows her to be flexible in positioning, engaging and disengaging in teamfights. Aurora is strong at all points during the game. In the Early Game, she has great wave clear that can give her opportunities to roam around the map. In the late game, her Between Worlds on the entire enemy team, and she can teleport to the other side of the circle, giving her easy access to the backline to try and one-shot enemy carries.
Damaging an enemy 3 times with abilities or attacks deals bonus magic damage and exorcises their spirit. If the enemy is a champion, it also frees a spirit that follows Aurora, restoring her health every second.
The easiest way to proc Spirit Abjuration is by using Twofold Hex and The Weirding. With the recast of Twofold Hex having unlimited range if you hit the initial cast and The Weirding, you'll guarantee to proc Spirit Abjuration, enhancing Aurora's damage and healing.
Aurora fires cursed energy in a direction, dealing magic damage to enemies and cursing them for a few seconds. Recasting Twofold Hex detonates the curse, dealing magic damage to enemies passed through. If the curse duration runs out, Aurora will automatically recast the ability.
Twofold Hex's recast damage is based on the enemy's missing health, so try to wait until your target's health is lower before pulling back the spirit energy for a more effective recast.
Aurora hops in a direction. Upon landing, you enter the spirit realm, becoming invisible for a second and entering Realm Hopper. Realm Hopper increases Aurora's movement speed for a few seconds. Scoring a takedown on an enemy champion resets the ability's cooldown.
Across the Veil can help make clever escapes and can be used over some walls. You can also use Across the Veil to reposition to get the optimal Twofold Hex pullback.
Aurora sends out a blast of spirit magic that deals magic damage to enemies in the area and slows them. After casting The Weirding, Aurora hops backwards a shot distance.
Slowing enemies with The Weirding makes it easier for Aurora to deal more damage or try to escape with the hop. Ensure you use The Weirding after Twofold Hex to guarantee the damage from Spirit Abjuration and Electrocute.
Aurora leaps in a direction. Upon landing, she sends out a pulse of spirit energy that deals magic damage and slows enemies hit for a few seconds. The area stays active for a few seconds, granting Aurora Realm Hopper and allowing her to jump from one edge of the area to another. Enemies attempting to enter or leave the area are slowed for a few seconds.
Between Worlds is very powerful in 1v1 scenarios and teamfights when combined with her other abilities. It also serves as an effective crowd-control mechanism, disrupting the enemy team's synergy. Between Worlds can also be used to escape danger. If you use it behind you and walk to the edge of the circle, it will teleport you to the other side, away from safety.
Infinity Orb helps Aurora deal bonus damage to enemies that are low on health. This item combos incredibly well with Aurora's combo with Twofold Hex and The Weirding, helping her with her burst damage.
Rabadon's Deathcap provides a massive boost of Ability Power, which scales incredibly well into the mid/late game. It's essential to have in your build to increase Aurora's burst damage.
Awakened Soulstealer helps Aurora's burst potential and allows you to use your abilities sooner after getting a takedown. This means you can continue using Aurora's abilities during teamfights.
With runes, we have the following:
Electrocute is the most consistent keystone to help with Aurora's burst damage. This can easily be proc'd with Aurora's combo using Twofold Hex and The Weirding.
Sudden Impact synergizes well with Across the Veil, allowing your other abilities to deal true damage. Across the Veil also resets when you get a takedown, enabling you to proc Sudden Impact multiple times during a fight.
Aurora auto-attacks in-between using her combo to help with her damage from her Spirit Abjuration.
Eyeball Collector is great with Aurora since it gives her more Ability Power every time she gets a takedown.
With Aurora's aggressive playstyle, you'll sometimes be diving in and getting caught. Bone Plating will help with her survivability if you get caught in fights.
Aurora has a pretty solid Early Game. Twofold Hex and The Weirding are great tools for helping you clear minion waves. This gives you free time to either go back to base and spend your gold or look to roam around the map. When roaming, you can use Across the Veil to sneak around the map and surprise enemies, making it easier to hit your combos. Aurora can also use her abilities to poke during the laning phase. Ensure you use Twofold Hex on minions and the enemy champion to both clear the wave and deal damage to the enemy to proc Electrocute and her passive.
Aurora is one of the most frustrating champions to play against in the late game. Aurora has one of the highest damage outputs in the game with her basic combo. This, combined with her invisibility, makes it impossible for enemies to track Aurora and prepare for the burst damage coming their way. In teamfights, use Between Worlds to slow the entire enemy team and use the edge of the circle to teleport to the other side, making it easier for you to access enemy high-value targets to burst them.
Overall, Aurora is a fun and engaging champion to play. With so much mobility at your disposal, she has a very high skill ceiling. Knowing when to use your dashes and abilities to either deal damage or escape can be a huge difference maker.
