Draven is a marksman who can play in the Duo Lane. Draven is among the strongest champions in the early game, thanks to his insane damage output from Spinning Axe. However, you'll need to catch these axes every time you auto-attack to maintain this damage. This can be one of the most challenging mechanics to learn in Wild Rift. On top of being one of the highest DPS champions in the early game, Draven's passive League of Draven allows him to gain stacks of Adoration every time he kills minions/monsters or catches a Spinning Axe. Once he has stacks, if you can kill a champion, he will consume these stacks to gain a lot of gold. This allows Draven to snowball games quickly and gain a huge advantage when ahead. However, if he dies, he will lose half of his stacks, making it difficult to get back into the game when put behind.
Killing a unit or catching a Spinning Axe grants a stack of Adoration. Killing champions consume all Adoration stacks and grant bonus gold. However, when Draven dies, half of the Adoration stacks are lost.
Try not to drop axes and lose last hit on minions, or you'll miss out on Adoration stacks. With Draven being one of the strongest early-game champions, League of Draven helps Draven gain a lot of gold and allows him to snowball games when ahead.
Draven gains a Spinning Axe, causing his next attack within a few seconds to deal additional physical damage. The Spinning Axe bounces off the target, allowing Draven to catch and regain it. Draven can hold two Spinning Axes at once.
Spinning Axe is Draven's primary damage source. The damage from Spinning Axe scales with his attack damage, so if Draven can get ahead in the early game, he becomes an unstoppable force in the mid/late game. Auto-attacking with a Spinning Axe and moving in a direction decides where your axes will land. So keep this in mind in teamfights.
Draven gains attack speed for a few seconds and decaying movement speed for just over a second. Catching a Spinning Axe refreshes Blood Rush's cooldown.
Since Draven has no mobility, he relies a lot on Blood Rush's movement speed to kite and survive in fights. Using this ability multiple times when you catch a Spinning Axe is essential to maintain the attack speed and movement speed you can get with Blood Rush.
Draven throws his axes, dealing physical damage and knocking enemies aside, slowing them for a few seconds.
You can use Draven's Stand Aside when chasing enemies so you stay within range to auto attack. One thing to consider is if your team is looking to hit any abilities. Stand Aside might know enemies away from each other and can affect your team's crowd control.
Draven hurls two massive axes, dealing physical damage. The axes return to Draven when they reach the edge of the map or hit a champion. Draven can also activate this ability while the axes are in flight to cause it to return early. Whirling Death is a global ultimate meaning that it can go from one side of the map to another. So watch for low-health enemies to secure the kill and consume Adoration stacks from League of Draven.
Bloodthirster gives Draven vital physical vamp to keep him alive. It's also one of the highest AD items in the game, which increases Draven's Spinning Axe damage significantly.
Infinity Edge is another strong AD item which increases Draven's critical strike damage and gives him snowball potential to win mid game teamfights.
Mortal Reminder gives Draven some early Armor Penetration so you can deal more damage to tanks and bruisers that build armor.
Onto the runes, we have:
Conqueror gives Draven extra attack damage and healing to help him get the early game lead he needs to snowball the game.
Brutal gives Draven a lot of extra early-game damage to try and get an advantage in the laning phase so he can snowball into the mid and late game.
Coup de Grace provides additional damage that helps burst enemies when they are low on health.
Giant Slayer is another good option when playing against bruisers and Tanks that build a lot of health.
The healing from Bloodline will be more beneficial for Draven for the sustain and survivability compared to attack speed from Alacrity.
Bone Plating is an excellent choice for surviving all-ins from enemy champions. As the carry for your team, you'll get a lot of focus from the enemies.
In the early game, you want to play as aggressively as possible. Constantly look for trades and try to auto-attack the enemy marksman as much as possible. You need to take advantage of your early-game damage as much as possible. Use your Spinning Axe to last hit minions, and make sure you catch your axes to get stacks of Adoration for his passive League of Draven. Then, when you have an opportunity, you need to get some early kills to get the extra gold from your passive. The reason is that the later the game goes, the harder it will be to survive when your axes drop in awkward positions.
In the late game, Draven's playstyle is different to other marksman because you also have to catch axes and judge whether or not it's safe to catch them or let them go. Don't be afraid to let axes go if they are landing in an awkward spot that could get you caught. As a marksman, it's always best to stay grouped with your team. You want to stay as far back from the enemies as possible and allow your front line to go in front of you to tank all the damage. Most of the time, you are the main damage output, so if you are caught by yourself and die, your team is in trouble, so make sure you stay safe at all times.
Overall, Draven is a very hard champion to learn. It will take some time to get used to catching Spinning Axes. Draven has a very aggressive playstyle that will take some time to get used to. If you get an advantage in the early game, you can snowball your lead into the mid and late-game and end games fast.
